Siemens Wind Power chooses ZerAx® fans for their wind turbines

Complete and optimised ventilation solution replaces the entire current ventilation systems, both in new and existing wind turbines. The project delivery includes supply of three different fan sizes depending on the type of wind turbine.

SOLUTION

NOVENCO Building & Industry has designed and delivered a unique solution for Siemens Wind Power - a complete and optimised ventilation solution which consists of a ZerAx® fan and inlet cone. A key element in the development phase was a reduction of  the sound level in the wind turbine towers. This was achieved by optimising the channel inlet to the best possible interaction with the ZerAx® fan. The design of the complete solution has been optimised around air flow conditions. 

Compared to the previous fan used by Siemens Wind Power, the ZerAx® fan is much more robust in design, thereby guaranteeing an expected product lifetime of 20 years. Service costs are therefore greatly reduced, benefiting both Siemens Wind Power and the end-user, the power utility. In this unique solution for Siemens Wind Power, Novenco Building & Industry has adapted a standard solution for the strict requirements in the Wind Turbine industry.
