NOVENCO Smoke Control Fans Successfully Tested to EN 12101-6:2022 Standards

We are proud to announce that NOVENCO Smoke Control Fans have successfully passed rigorous testing to meet the requirements outlined in EN 12101-6:2022 Annex C. These tests included the use of a frequency inverter and operation at variable speeds under elevated temperatures of 300°C.

Comprehensive Testing Process

Prior to the high-temperature test, our fans underwent extensive functionality, durability (over 10,000 cycles), and oscillation testing at an independent facility. This ensured the entire arrangement of the desired kit type was thoroughly evaluated.

Detailed Testing Phases

• Warm-up Period: The fan was operated for at least one hour at ambient conditions. During this period, acceleration and deceleration times between frequencies were maintained within 3 seconds, with a 6-minute halt at the set frequency.
• High-Temperature Test: Following the warm-up, the gas temperature at the fan intake was increased to 300°C within 5-10 minutes. The fan's frequency was then altered within the control range every 9 seconds, with a maximum adjustment time of 3 seconds, for the first 30 minutes. Subsequent changes between minimum and maximum setpoints occurred every 5 minutes for the next 30 minutes. After an hour, the same sequence of testing was repeated.

After two hours of successful operation under these conditions, the fan was switched off, marking the completion of the test.

Declaration of Performance

The results of these tests, combined with the PDS kit tests according to EN 12101-6:2022, are published in a Declaration of Performance, showcasing the reliability and efficiency of NOVENCO Smoke Control Fans.
