ErP 2026 for fans and new Ecodesign requirements
The updated Ecodesign requirements for fans are now applicable under the EU Ecodesign 2024/1834 regulation with amendment 2025/2481.
From 24th July 2026, fans covered by the regulation must meet new energy-efficiency requirements. The regulation also introduces additional product information requirements.
What does ErP 2026 mean for fans?
The new requirements are part of the EU Ecodesign framework for energy-related products that are designed to improve energy efficiency and to reduce the environmental impact of products throughout the lifetime of the products.
For fan manufacturers, this means updated requirements for energy efficiency, product information and documentation.
The regulation also changes the terminology that describe fan performance and energy efficiency.

NOVENCO is already ahead of the new Ecodesign requirements. Our fan solutions are designed with energy efficiency in mind and are ready for the requirements introduced with ErP 2026.
Customers can therefore confidently still specify and safely select NOVENCO fans as the new requirements have come in to force.

Updated NOVENCO documentation
In the technical reports from the NOVENCO AirBox fan calculation tool, the ErP Ecodesign information is now presented as a separate section. Previously, the information was in the fan section of the report.
Changes have also been made to the custom reports which now display the same Ecodesign information. Hence, the information is more accessible and easier to identify for compliance, specification and selection purposes.
Updated fan nameplates
The newly effective regulation also expands the requirements for the product information written on the physical products. The NOVENCO nameplates across our entire fan portfolio have therefore been revised to make them more consistent and clear, and to include the new required information.
What this means for NOVENCO customers?
The new requirements affect how fans are specified, documented and assessed for energy efficiency. For these purposes, the NOVENCO product documentation and systems have been updated to meet the new requirements and to allow customers to transition without compromising fan efficiency and performance.
The new Ecodesign information is available through NOVENCO's Technical and Custom Reports in AirBox which provide the relevant information for fan selection and documentation.
