Retrofit to the latest AHU technology
The DS Group recently completed a major retrofit of the air handling units (AHUs) at its Noida headquarters. The project replaced 40 outdated centrifugal fans with highly efficient, state-of-the-art NOVENCO ZerAx axial fans. This initiative supports the company’s Sustainable Development journey, aligning commercial, environmental and social goals.
The first project phase introduced a proof of concept by replacing one centrifugal fan with a ZerAx fan. AIR TECHNO INDIA PVT. LTD., an authorised NOVENCO channel partner, measured AHU performance before and after the retrofit. For the same airflow, the ZerAx fan reduced energy consumption by 55%.
The outstanding results once again confirm the ZerAx fans' industry-leading efficiency and their strong contribution to sustainable building certifications.
The DS Group Headquarters (DSHQ), a LEED Platinum certified building, achieved over 55% energy savings in its AHU systems with ZerAx® fans. The pilot installation confirmed improved efficiency, shorter ROI, and carbon-emission reduction, supporting DSHQ’s goal to become a Zero Carbon facility.

The NOVENCO ZerAx fan design further enhances this impact. With 98% of each fan fully recyclable after a lifetime of more than 20 years, the AHU systems at the DS Group headquarters now meet high environmental standards in both operation and end-of-life handling. The result is a true green win-win for the DS Group and the environment.
